The friction clutch is considered a very important element of machines, as it plays major role in transferring power from the driving part to driven part. A common application vehicles connect between gearbox and engine. Fast wear occurs result frictional heating that generated when starting engage. This wear, addition high thermal stresses, will lead premature failure contacting surfaces. present review highlights most studies thermoelastic problems clutches during last 10 years show challenges were overcome also other needed find solutions. paper discuss detail influence heat contact surfaces slipping main factors affecting behavior dry clutches, such sliding speed, materials, applied pressure, so on. Furthermore, significant conclusions remarks based on available solutions problem are presented.
